Ingredients

  • 8 slices thick brioche bread cut into 1/3's
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup whole milk
  • 2 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch salt
  • syrup for serving

Instructions

  • Prepare the bread, by slicing each piece into 1/3's. Set aside.
  • In a medium sized mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth and creamy.
  • Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture just until coated, but not soggy. Work in batches if you know they won't all fit in your air fryer basket.
  • Liberally coat your air fryer basket with non stick cooking spray, then add egg washed brioche slices to fit but DO NOT overlap.
  • Cook at 360° for 6-8 minutes, cooking until golden brown and flipping half way through.
  • Repeat in batches, as needed, until all the french toast sticks have been cooked.
  • Serve warm with syrup for drizzling or dipping!

Notes

  • For best results leave a little space between all the sticks when placing them in the air fryer. Cook best when air's able to circulate- just the nature of air fryers
  • DO NOT soak your bread. It will quickly turn to mush. Instead, quickly dip the bread slices in the egg wash mixture. Also, allow excess mixture to drip/drain off before placing in the basket
  • Liberally spray the air fryer basket with non stick spray in between batches to prevent sticking. In between EACH batch, otherwise they will stick.
  • If you don't have non stick spray you can line your basket with parchment paper, but make sure to poke holes in it to perforate to allow air flow through.
