Easy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake

The easiest ice cream sandwich cake turns ice cream sandwiches into a delicious ice box cake. With only 5 ingredients, you won't believe how quick this frozen dessert comes together.

Ingredients

  • 2 12 pack boxes ice cream sandwiches
  • 1 16 oz tub cool whip topping softened
  • chocolate syrup
  • crushed oreo sandwich cookies
  • mini m&m's candies

Instructions

  • Unwrap 12 ice cream sandwiches and lay them in a 9x13" baking dish to form an even layer. You may have to cut the last one to make it fit- that's ok.
  • Spoon half of the softened whipped topping to the top of the ice cream bar layer. Gently spread it out into an even layer, like frosting.
  • Repeat with another layer of the remaining ice cream sandwiches, cutting the last to fit- as needed.
  • Spread the rest of the whipped topping evenly out over the ice cream sandwiches.
  • Top with crushed oreo cookies, candies, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
  • Freeze the ice cream cake for 1-2 hours (allowing it to harden & set up), before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Enlist the kids to help you unwrap the ice cream sandwiches.
  • You may have to cut the last sandwich in each layer in half to get it to fit. That's ok!
  • Get creative with your toppings and have fun!
  • Make sure you give the cake enough time to set in the freezer prior to serving.
