- 1 8 oz pouch flake style immitation crab
- 1 8 oz pouch chunk style immitation crab
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 3/4-1 cup mayo
- pinch red pepper flakes
- smoked paprika for garnish, optional
Add the chunk crab to a mixing bowl, breaking apart as needed. Shred the flaked crab with a fork and add that to the mixing bowl too. Mix the two together to evenly combine.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the mixing bowl, and stir together until the salad's evenly combined.
Serve immediately, or cover and chill for 1-2 hours.
Garnish with a sprinkle of smoked parika, if desired.
- Judge the creaminess for yourself- if it's not creamy enough, you can add more mayo.
- Turn this into a creamy mixed seafood salad by adding some chopped lobster or shrimp.
- If you'd prefer a more indulgent taste, spring for real crab meat.
- If you really want to kick it up a notch, give it a Cajun spin by stirring in some Cajun or Creole seasoning.
- To brighten it a touch, add a little squeeze of lemon just before serving.
