Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 1-2 cans diced tomatoes with green chiles do not drain
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese softened & cubed

Instructions

  • Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook, breaking it apart, until browned throughout. Drain off as much excess grease as possible.
  • Add the tomatoes and cream cheese to the skillet, and stir together over low heat until evenly combined.
  • Once the dip's smooth, creamy, and hot- serve warm with your favorite dipping options.

Notes

  • Add one can of diced tomatoes & green chiles for a thicker dip, two for a thinner creamier consistency.
  • Use hot sausage for a zippier, spicier flavor.
  • Don't have Rotel or diced tomatoes with green chiles? Swap it out for 3/4 cup of salsa.
  • Change it up and add some spices! Stir in some taco seasoning for a Tex Mex kick. Old Bay for a cook out vibe. Cajun or Creole seasoning will also add a different kick.
  • For a better presentation, serve this dip garnished with a sprinkling of freshly chopped tomatoes and thinly sliced green onions.
