Slow Cooker Beef & Broccoli

Slow cooker beef and broccoli comes together in less time than it would take you to order takeout! With all the delicious flavors of the classic, you'll love making this at home version anytime you find yourself in the mood for Chinese.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1 1/2 lbs quality steak slied into thin strips
  • 1 cup beef broth or stock
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 packed cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/8 tsp sriracha sauce optional
  • 3 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch + 4 tbsp cooking liquid from the slow cooker

Instructions

  • Add the steak strips to the bowl of your slow cooker.
  • To a mixing bowl add the broth, soy sauce, oil, sugar, garlic, and sriracha (if using). Whisk together until evenly combined. Pour the sauce over the steak, and stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the cornstarch with 4 tablespoons of juice from the slow cooker until smooth. Pour the slurry into the slow cooker, add the broccoli, and stir to combine.
  • Turn the heat to HIGH, cover, and cook another 30 minutes.
  • Serve warm over a bed of steamed white rice, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding more or less Sriracha and garlic to the mix.
  • You could add a little grated ginger to this too for extra flavor.
  • For extra fanciness when you serve it, you could garnish it with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
