  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 3 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 6 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 lb linguine noodles
  • fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the ground beef, ginger, and garlic to a large skillet set over medium high heat. Stir together and cook, breaking up the meat as it does, until the beef's crumbled and completely cooked through. Strain off all excess grease.
1 lb lean ground beef, 1 tbsp ginger paste, 3 tsp minced garlic
  • Boil water and the olive oil in a pot with a pinch of salt. Once boiling add the pasta, and cook according to the package directions- just until the pasta's al dente. Strain.
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 lb linguine noodles
  • While the pasta's cooking combine the soy sauce, broth, sugar, hoisin, and red pepper flakes in a mixing bowl- whisking together until evenly incorporated.
1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/2 cup beef broth, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 6 tbsp hoisin sauce, 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • Pour the sauce over the cooked beef in the skillet, stirring well, and saute the mixture for 10 minutes.
  • Add the cooked and strained pasta to the skillet with the beef mixture, gently tossing until well combined.
  • Cook the mixture on medium high heat, stirring often, just until the sauce has thickened.
  • Serve warm with garnish, and enjoy!
    fresh cilantro leaves, sesame seeds

Notes

  • Want to kick this up more? Double the amount of red pepper flakes or add a tablespoon or so of Sriracha sauce.
  • You can use regular linguine noodles or get the Asian style rice noodles. Just use the wider variety.
  • Watching your sodium? Use reduced sodium soy sauce.
