Slow Cooker Green Beans Recipe
This slow cooker green beans recipe is the perfect short cut side dish. Canned green beans, a ham hock, and a blend of seasonings combine dump and go style and then cook down until they practically melt in your mouth. They taste so good they're a holiday staple, but are easy enough to enjoy any night of the year.

- 6 14.5 oz cans cut green beans
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 1/2 tbsp dried onion
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder NOT salt
- 1/4 tsp seasoned salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 ham hock
Add all of the ingredients to the bowl of a slow cooker, and stir to combine.
6 14.5 oz cans cut green beans, 2 1/2 cups chicken broth, 2 1/2 tbsp dried onion, 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp seasoned salt, 2 tbsp butter, 1 ham hock
Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours.
Using a slotted spoon, serve warm and enjoy!
- While I like the addition of butter for richness, it is optional.
- Like a little kick to your green beans? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes.
- If salt's a concern then use low or no sodium broth. You may also choose to omit the seasoned salt, since ham is naturally salty.
