Ingredients

  • 16 hotdogs sliced into 1/2" coins
  • 2 15 oz cans chili with, or without, beans
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 28 oz pkg frozen tater tots

Instructions

  • Liberally spray a 9x13" baking dish with non stick spray. Set aside.
  • To a mixing bowl add the sliced hot dogs, canned chili, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, and red pepper flakes. Stir to evenly combine.
  • Transfer the hot dog chili mixture to the prepared baking dish, and use a spatula to spread it out into an even layer.
  • Spread the cheese out evenly over the casserole, then top with the tater tots.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or until the tater tots are crisp & the casserole's bubbling.

Notes

  • If you use chili without beans, your filling will be on the thinner side. It will still taste good, it will just appear soupier when served.
  • Do not press the tots down into the casserole, you want them resting on top of the cheese layer in a single layer. This will ensure maximum crispness.
  • I love toppings. Let's put toppings on all the things! We top this with thinly sliced green onion and a dash of hot sauce. Feel free to use toppings of your preference.
