Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans wash & trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon sliced into 1/2" pieces
  • 1/2 small red onion diced
  • 2 1/2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients EXCEPT the bacon & onion to a mixing bowl. Toss to evenly combine.
  • Transfer the seasoned beans to the basket of your air fryer, and spread out into an even layer. Sprinkle the bacon & onions evenly out overtop.
  • Cook at 370° for 12 minutes, checking halfway through, until the bacon's crispy & the beans have softened and begun to shrivel some.
  • Serve the green beans warm & enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use fresh or jarred lemon juice, but don't skip it! It really adds to the flavor of the dish.
  • Slivered almonds make a great garnish and give the beans a bit of crunch.
  • You can omit the bacon if preferred.
  • These can also be made using an air fryer oven, but may take longer to cook.
  • Different brands of air fryers may vary in temperature when cooking, this is why we recommend checking the beans halfway through the cook time.
  • I do not recommend using canned beans for this recipe. They will not crisp up, and just get mushier.
