Cheeseburger bread pudding is perfect game day food! Cheeseburgers get chopped and cooked in a rich custard to make a comforting casserole with no more work than whisking together some eggs.
Are you all ready for the big game?
I don’t really care who’s playing.
To be honest, I care mainly about the food.
And this cheeseburger bread pudding is the perfect addition to your game day food.
What is cheeseburger bread pudding?
Cheeseburger bread pudding takes the concept of bread baked in eggs and milk and turns it into a savory main dish by baking cheesesburgers in custard instead.
Ingredients
To make this you need:
- Cheeseburgers– Microwavable cheeseburgers like the White Castle ones.
- Custard ingredients– Eggs and milk
- Spices– Salt, black pepper, and garlic powder
- Cheese– Shredded cheddar
- Garnish– Ketchup and mustard
How to Make
The beauty of bread pudding is it is really no harder to make than a French toast casserole- even when there are burgers involved!
To do it, start by microwaving the burgers according to their package instructions.
Once they are cooked and cool enough to safely handle, chop the burgers into fourths to make roughly 1″ pieces.
Spread the chopped cheeseburgers in a 9×13″ casserole dish sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
Whisk the eggs, milk, and spices together in a small mixing bowl until everything is evenly combined.
Pour this mixture evenly out overtop of the burger pieces in the casserole dish and gently stir to combine.
Bake the bread pudding at 400° for 30 minutes or until it is deliciously golden brown and set.
Let the dish cool for 5-10 minutes.
After 5 to 10 minutes, run a knife around the edges of the dish to release the bread pudding from the pan.
Slice and serve with a drizzle of both ketchup and yellow mustard.
Enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat in a hot oven until warmed through or microwave in a microwave safe dish.

Cheeseburger Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 8 2 packs White Castle cheeseburgers
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/8 tsp garlic powder
- 2 1/2 – 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ketchup for garnish
- yellow mustard for garnish
Instructions
- Microwave the burgers according to their package instructions. Once cooked, and cool enough to safely handle, chop the burgers into roughly 1" pieces- about 4 pieces per slider.
- Spray a 9×13" casserole dish with non stick cooking spray. Add the chopped cheeseburgers to it- spreading out in an even layer.
- Add all of the remaining ingredients, except for the ketchup & mustard, to a small mixing bowl. Whisk together until evenly combined.
- Pour this mixture evenly out overtop of the burger pieces in the casserole dish. Gently stir the mixture to combine- doesn't have to be perfect.
- Bake at 400° for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and no excess moisture remains.
- Let the dish cool for 5-10 minutes. Run a knife around the edges of the dish to release the bread pudding from the pan.
- Slice and serve with a drizzle of both ketchup and yellow mustard.
Notes
- If possible use whole milk for the richest flavor and avoid using skim milk.
- You could use leftover burgers and buns for this instead of White Castle sliders. If you are using full sized burgers and buns, you probably only need 4 instead of 8.
- Feel free to substitute the cheddar cheese for any other cheese you prefer.
- Don’t skip letting it sit before you cut into it. The casserole needs time to set up before you slice it.
