Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Belgian waffles– The frozen kind toasted according to the directions on the package.
  • Butter– To melt into a pan
  • Condiments– Mayonnaise and Dijon mustard
  • Chicken tenders– Your favorite variety of premade crispy chicken tenders

How to Make

If you can make a grilled cheese sandwich, then you will have no trouble making this chicken and waffles grilled cheese sandwich!

To do it, start by preparing the waffles and chicken tenders according to the instructions on their respective packages.

Once both are warm, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium low heat.

While the butter melts, stir the mayonnaise and mustard together.

Then spread the mayonnaise mustard combination on the inside of one waffle.

Put the waffle with the condiment mixture in the skillet, condiment side up.

Put the chicken tenders on the waffle.

Top the chicken tenders with cheese and then the other waffle.

Cook the sandwich for 3 to 5 minutes per side or until the cheese melts and waffles are crispy.

Serve and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

I don’t recommend storing leftovers of this as it will get soggy.

This recipe makes one sandwich so only make as many as you think will be eaten.

Tips and Tricks

  • You could divide the condiment spread between one side of both waffles that.
  • Cheddar is just a suggestion. Swiss or mozzarella would also work in this sandwich.
  • If you have a chef’s weight you can put that on it to flatten your sandwich as it cooks. It makes for a crispier exterior.

Ingredients

  • 2 frozen belgian waffles toasted according to package instructions
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2-3 crispy chicken tenders
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Add the butter to a medium skillet set over medium low heat to melt.
    2 tbsp butter
  • In a small bowl stir the mayo and mustard together until evenly combined. Spread on the inside of one waffle.
    1 tbsp mayonnaise, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • Set the waffle in the skillet and add the chicken tenders. Top with cheese, followed by the other waffle.
    2 frozen belgian waffles, 2-3 crispy chicken tenders, 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Cook 3-5 minutes, per side, until the cheese is melted and the waffles are nice and crispy.
  • Serve warm & enjoy!
