Chicken tikka masala pizza is a mashup of flatbread pizza and the classic Indian dish. This pizza features a naan bread crust slathered with tikka masala sauce and topped with chopped rotisserie chicken, mozzarella cheese, red onions, and cilantro. The result is a delicious dinner ready in just about 20 minutes!
Chicken tikka masala is one of my very favorite Indian dishes.
If you haven’t had it, it has chicken cooked in a fragrant spiced sauce.
It’s so good!
Bold without being overly spicy yet full of flavor.
It’s normally served with rice and naan flatbread.
Our chicken tikka masala pizza uses naan as a crust and the tikka masala sauce as the sauce.
The chicken?
The topping of course!
It’s a really easy and yummy take on two classic dishes that everyone will love!
Ingredients
- Naan bread– 3 large naan breads
- Tikka masala sauce– Your favorite store bought brand
- Mozzarella cheese– Shredded
- Chicken– Chopped rotisserie chicken
- Red onion– Diced
- Cilantro– Chopped fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
How to Make
Chicken tikka masala pizza is so easy to make!
Put the naan on rimmed baking sheet lined with foil and sprayed with nonstick spray.
Divide the sauce evenly between the three breads, spreading it out to cover most of the surface of each bread.
Then spread the chicken and half the cheese evenly out over the breads.
Sprinkle the onions onto the pizzas.
Top the pizzas with the remaining cheese.
Bake the naan pizzas at 425 for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
Top the warm pizzas with chopped fresh cilantro if desired.
Serve and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
These pizzas are best enjoyed the day you make them and the recipe is easy to adjust down to only make what you plan to eat.
However if you do have leftovers store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Reheat them in a hot oven until the cheese is melted again.
Tips and Tricks
- If you’d prefer to bake your naan bread pizzas directly on the oven rack for a crispier crust, reduce the cook time to 8-10 minutes.
- Not a fan of cilantro? Skip it or substitute fresh parsley instead.
- Tikka masala has a little spice to it, but it is not overly spicy. The heat level though depends on exactly what kind of masala sauce you buy.
