A quintessential part of each and every Christmas season is making cookies for Santa.
I will bake cookies with my kids with one caveat.
Please skip the complicated cut out cookies.
I don’t have the energy to do that before the holiday.
But these easy Christmas cookies for Santa?
I can absolutely through a batch of these together with the kids.

The recipe is basically a chocolate chip cookie recipe with some salty pretzel pieces and red and green M&Ms added in.
Easy, but still different enough to take to a cookie swap party.
And definitely yummy enough for Santa!
Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:

- Flour– All purpose
- Baking soda– For lift
- Salt– To balance the flavors
- Butter– Unsalted butter softened
- Sugar– Both granulated and brown
- Vanilla– Real vanilla extract
- Eggs
- Mix ins– Semi-sweet chocolate chips, Christmas M&Ms, and mini pretzels
How to Make
These Christmas cookies for Santa are easy to make.
Just whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl.
Set the dry ingredients aside.

Then in another mixing bowl, cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar and softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla until the mixture is creamy.

Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a thick batter forms.
Chop the pretzels into small bits.
Fold the chocolate chips, M&Ms, and pretzel bits into the dough.

Then scoop out cookie dough using a small scoop.
Roll the dough into a ball and put the cookie dough ball onto a cookie sheet sprayed with nonstick spray.
Repeat until you have used all the dough.

Bake at 350° for 13 minutes.
Once the cookies are golden on the edges and set in the midldle take them out of the oven.
Sightly press the cookies down with a flat spatula and let cookies rest for 5 minutes.

Remove the cookies onto a baking rack for further cooling.
Serve on or before Christmas Eve with a glass of milk.
Enjoy!

Storing
Store cookies in an air tight cookie tin or tupperware container on the counter for up to a week.

Tips and Tricks
- If using salted butter, cut down the amount of salt you add to the batter and only add about 1/4 teaspoon.
- You can use milk or dark chocolate chips if you’d prefer.
- Let the cookies set before you try to remove them from the cookie sheet or they will fall apart.
- For easy clean up, line your cookie sheet with foil.

Instructions

- In another mixing bowl, add brown sugar, sugar and softened butter and mix until creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until creamy and without clumps.2 sticks of butter, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 eggs, 2 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla
- Gradually mix in the flour until a thick batter forms.
- Chop the pretzels into small bits.1/2 cup mini pretzels
- Add the chocolate chips, M&Ms, and pretzel bits.1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, 1/2 cup Christmas M&Ms
- Using a small cookie scoop, scoop out cookie dough. Roll into ball and place on an oil sprayed baking sheet.
- Cook on 350° for 13 minutes.
- Once done, slightly press the cookies down with a flat spatula and let cookies rest for 5 minutes.
- Remove the cookies onto a baking rack for further cooling.
- Serve on or before Christmas Eve with a glass of milk.
