- Garlic– Minced or pressed fresh cloves
- Bell pepper– Diced red bell pepper. However you can use any color bell pepper you have.
- Honey
- Soy sauce– You can use lite or low sodium soy sauce if you prefer
- Green onions– Thinly sliced
How to Make
Honey pepper chicken is so easy to make!
Just start the rice so it’s finished around the same time as the chicken.

After you get the rice going, stir together the diced chicken breasts, 1 tbsp oil, garlic salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes in a large bowl.

Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium to high heat.
Cook the diced chicken for about 8 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked.

Once the chicken is golden and fully cooked, take it out of the pan and set it aside.
Then add the minced or pressed garlic and diced bell pepper to the skillet and cook over a medium heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring the whole time.

Stir in the honey and the soy sauce and stir and keeps stirring until a sauce forms and gets slightly thick.
Toss the chicken with the sauce in the pan until it gets coated.

Serve it over rice and top with chopped scallions if desired.
Enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store any leftover chicken in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
If you have any leftover rice, store it separately so it doesn’t absorb all the sauce.
Reheat in a hot skillet or in the microwave until warmed through.
Tips and Tricks
- Don’t want it spicy? Skip the red pepper flakes. If you want it spicier, add extra red pepper flakes.
- Save time with microwaveable rice.
- If the sauce isn’t thick enough for you, let it cook for another minute or so and it will keep reducing.
