Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Sausage– Ground sausage. Any variety you like. Not into sausage? Use ground beef.
  • Onion– A small yellow onion peeled and diced
  • Jalapeno– Seeded and diced. If you don’t like things spicy, you can skip this but removing the seeds and heat takes away a lot of the spice.
  • Seasonings– Garlic powder, chili powder, and cumin
  • Canned chili– You want a kind with no beans
  • Velveeta– Cubed
  • Cheddar cheese– Shredded
  • Canned diced tomatoes– An undrained can of diced tomatoes with green peppers

Tips and Tricks

  • Not a fan of sausage? Skip it and use ground beef or ground chicken instead.
  • This isn’t overly spicy but it does have a little kick. If you are sensitive to spice, either cut down the amount of jalapeno you use or skip it all together.
  • You can use the kind of chili with beans if you want but we prefer the heartier, meatier chili.
  • If you have leftover homemade chili, you could absolutely use that instead of canned chili.
