Ingredients

  • 1 party size pack sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 24 chicken nuggets cooked according to package instructions
  • 3/4 - 1 cup marinara sauce or spaghetti sauce
  • 7 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Lightly spray a baking sheet with non stick spray. Set aside.
  • Open the rolls and cut them in half, using a serrated bread knife, to create a bottom and top layer.
  • Carefully transfer the bottom layer to the prepared baking sheet, keeping the rolls together. Set the top layer aside, but so that you remember where they should fit over the bottom halves of their buns.
  • Add the sauce to the bottom bun layer, and spread it out evenly to coat.
  • Add the nuggets, placing one in the center of each bottom roll.
  • Layer 6 slices of provolone evenly out to cover the nuggets. Break the last slice in half and place them down the center of the roll line.
  • Carefully turn the top layer over and place it overtop of the assembly.
  • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning to evenly combine. Brush the butter mixture evenly out over top of the of the buns and onto the sides. Use all of it.
  • Cover the pan with tin foil, and wrap it tightly.
  • Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes. Uncover and cook an additional 2-3 more minutes, or until the tops are golden brown & slightly toasted.
  • Let the sliders cool slightly, and then pull apart to serve.

Notes

  • Don't skip cooking the nuggets before making the sliders.
  • You can cut the cooked sliders apart gently with a pairing knife if they don't pull apart easily.
  • No need for homemade sauce. Use your favorite store brand or even leftovers.
