Ingredients

  • 6 large sub/hoagie rolls
  • 1 28 oz pkg frozen meatballs
  • 1 32 oz jar tomato basil pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter softened (optional)

Instructions

  • Lightly spray a 9x13' baking dish with non stick spray. Set aside.
  • Add the meatballs and sauce to a large sauce pan. Stir to combine. Cover & cook just until the meatballs are heated through- stirring occasionally.
  • Baste the inside of each roll with melted butter. Then add 4-5 meatballs and sauce to the inside of each roll. Spoon extra sauce on top of the meatballs.
  • Add the meatball subs to the prepared dish in a single row. Spread the cheese evenly out over all of the subs.
  • Bake at 400° for 10-15 minutes, just until the buns are toasted and the cheese is hot and bubbly.
  • Serve warm & enjoy!

Notes

  • You can scale this recipe up or down by using more or less meatballs and sauce.
  • Adding other cheeses like sharp provolone and Parmesan will really make these sandwiches amazing.
  • Kick it up another notch by adding some pressed garlic into the melted butter before you spoon it on the rolls.
