Big Bell Beefer Sandwich (Taco Bell Copycat)
A Big Bell Beefer sandwich is a copycat of a nostalgic Taco Bell menu item. This sandwich features taco flavored ground beef topped with cheddar cheese, onion, Taco Bell sauce, and shredded lettuce nestled between toasted hamburger buns.

- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 1 oz pkt Taco Bell taco seasoning
- 3/4 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup finely diced white onion
- 4 tbsp Taco Bell mild sauce
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 white hamburger buns
Add the meat to a large skillet and cook, crumbling as it does, until completely browned. Strain off all grease.

Stir in the taco seasoning and the water called for on the packet until they're evenly combined.
1 1 oz pkt Taco Bell taco seasoning
Simmer for 8 - 10 minutes on medium low heat just until the mixture's nicely thickened. Remove the skillet from heat.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly, just until they begin to brown.
4 white hamburger buns
Add 1/4 of the meat mixture to each bottom bun. Drizzle a tablespoon of taco sauce out over each.
4 tbsp Taco Bell mild sauce
Divide the cheese, onion, and lettuce evenly out between each sandwich- in that order. Add a top bun to each to close the sandwiches.

Serve immediately and enjoy!
- Toasting the buns is an optional step, but one I highly recommend since it will keep them from getting soggy when they're loaded up with the wet taco meat.
- The order of adding the sandwich ingredients is important. Having the cheese on the hot meat helps it melt while putting the lettuce on last keeps it crispier.
- You can add other taco toppings if you like like avocado slices, jalapenos, or sour cream.
