To Make The Cheeseburger Dip
Cook the beef in a skillet, crumbling it as it cooks, until it's all completely browned and cooked through. Drain off the grease.
1 lb lean ground beef
Add the cream cheese to the hot beef in the skillet, stirring together until evenly combined. Transfer the mixture to a large mixing bowl.
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
Add the sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, relish, and bacon. Stir everything together until the mixture's evenly combined.
1 cup sour cream, 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes with green chiles (mild), 1 1/2 tbsp dill pickle relish, 3/4 cup crisp, crumbled bacon
Transfer the cheeseburger dip to an oven safe 8x8 inch baking dish and use a spatula to spread it out in an even layer.
Bake the dip at 350° for 20-25 minutes, or until hot & bubbly.
To Make The Hamburger Bun Croutons
Add the cubed buns to a mixing bowl, then drizzle with olive oil. Toss to evenly combine.
6 sesame seed buns, 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Spread the croutons out in an even layer on a baking dish, then bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes- stirring halfway through, and just until golden brown and crispy.
Serve the dip warm, with croutons on the side.
- For easier clean up, spray the baking dish with non stick spray before adding the dip to it.
- Don't have pickle relish? Mince up some dill pickles and use them instead.
- Like things extra cheesy? Sprinkle some extra shredded cheddar on top before baking.
- Don't have ground beef? You can substitute ground sausage or even ground turkey.
