Creamy Angel Chicken (Slow Cooker Recipe)

- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts trimmed of fat
- salt & pepper to taste
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 3 tbsp butter softened
- 1 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup
- 4 cloves garlic pressed or minced
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 .7 oz pkt Italian dressing mix
- 1 16 oz box angel hair pasta cooked per pkg directions to al dente
- shredded Parmesan cheese for garnish
Add the oil to a cast iron skillet set over medium high heat, turning gently so the oil coats the pan.
2 tbsp canola oil
Season the chicken on both sides with salt and pepper, then add the chicken to the hot skillet. Sear on both sides, just until golden brown, roughly 3 minutes per side. Remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, salt & pepper
Add the softened cream cheese and butter to a mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer cream them together until evenly combined. Add the remaining ingredients, except the pasta and Parmesan, and stir together until evenly combined and smooth.
4 oz cream cheese, 3 tbsp butter, 1 10.5 oz can cream of chicken soup, 4 cloves garlic, 3/4 cup chicken broth, 1 .7 oz pkt Italian dressing mix
Transfer the seared chicken to the bowl of a slow cooker, then pour the sauce evenly out overtop.
Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 - 3 hours.
Serve warm over top the cooked pasta, with a sprinkle of Parmesan for garnish, and enjoy!
1 16 oz box angel hair pasta, shredded Parmesan cheese
- There's always room to add as much garlic as your heart desires. Adjust the amount to suit your taste.
- You can use other kinds of pasta if your prefer.
- Many recipes make this with cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken and can use that if you prefer. You can also add in some sliced baby bella mushrooms if you'd like.
- Don't skip searing the chicken. Not only does it reduce the slow cook time, it also locks in flavor and gives the chicken a beautiful and delicious crust.
