Creamy Crockpot Grits Recipe

- 2 cups old fashioned grits NOT quick grits
- 8 cups chicken broth can substitute water
- salt & pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup butter sliced into thick pats
Add the grits, broth, salt, and pepper to the bowl of a slow cooker. Stir to evenly combine.

Top evenly with the pats of butter, then cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3-4, stirring every hour.

Turn off the slow cooker, add the cream, and quickly stir it in to evenly combine with the grits.

Let the mixture rest, uncovered, for 10 minutes then stir again.
Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
- For easy cleanup, spray the crockpot with nonstick spray before adding the ingredients.
- These grits MUST be stirred during cooking to cook properly, and afterwards to ensure everything's evenly combined.
- For cheesy grits, stir in shredded cheese right after stirring in the cream.
