Easy Babybel Fried Cheese Bites (Air Fryer Recipe)

These air fried Babybel cheese bites are a quick, crispy snack with a gooey melted center that’s ready in minutes. They make for a delicious afterschool snack or an appetizer for parties, holidays, or anytime!

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Babybel cheese circles
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup Italian bread crumbs

Instructions

  • Remove the packaging and wax from the cheese circles. Set the cheese aside.

  • Add the flour, eggs, and bread crumbs to three separate shallow bowls.
    1/2 cup flour, 2 large eggs, 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
  • Working with 1 piece of cheese at a time, add it to the flour turning to evenly coat on all sides. Shake off any excess flour.
  • Dip the cheese into the egg, turning to coat on all sides, then transfer it to the breadcrumbs and turn again to evenly coat on all sides. Press the bread crumbs in, if needed, to ensure an even coating.
  • Spray the basket of an air fryer with nonstick spray, then add the prepared cheese. Repeat until the basket is full, but none of the cheeses are touching.
  • Spray the breaded cheese bites lightly with nonstick spray then air fry them at 380° for 5-7 minutes.
  • Using tongs transfer them to a serving plate and repeat, if needed, for the rest of the cheese.
  • Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping, and enjoy!

Notes

  • It's VERY important to ensure an even coating of all layers, especially the bread crumbs, on all sides to seal in the melted cheese and prevent it from leaking out of its breading.
  • Depending on how many cheese bites you're making, you may have to cook them in batches. There needs to be space between all the cheese bites in the basket of the air fryer for the hot air to circulate properly and cook them evenly in the allotted time.
  • This recipe easily adjusts down or up depending on how many bites you want to make.
