Servings: 6
- 2 cups jasmine rice rinsed
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp ground cumin
- scant 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 whole bay leaf
Place the liner in your Instant Pot then add all of the ingredients to it, stir to evenly combine.
2 cups jasmine rice, 2 1/2 cups chicken broth, 4 tbsp butter, 1 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tbsp minced garlic, 1/4 tsp ground cumin, scant 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon, 1 whole bay leaf
Close the lid and set the vent valve to the 'sealed' position.
Pressure cook (manual) on HIGH pressure for 3 minutes. When done let the pot sit undisturbed for a 10 minute natural release, then carefully open the vent valve to release the remaining trapped steam.
Remove the lid, fluff with a work, remove the bay leaf, and serve warm.
- You can use salted or unsalted butter. If you use salted butter, you may want to use a reduced sodium broth.
- Don't skip the natural release. The rice won't be done enough without it.
- Use only a scant amount of cinnamon. It won't give the rice a sweet flavor but rather just a touch of warm earthiness.
