- 1 dozen full size Krispy Kreme glazed donuts can use an alternate brand if preferred
- 3 large eggs beaten
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch nutmeg
Cut the donuts into quarters, then add them to a greased 9x13" baking dish. Spread them out in an evenish layer.

Add the eggs, milk, cream, sugar, salt, extract, and nutmeg to a large mixing bowl then whisk them together until evenly combined.

Pour the liquid mixture evenly out over the donuts, using a spatula to press the donuts down into the liquid slightly. Allow the dish to rest for a full 10 minutes.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45-50 minutes. Carefully remove the hot dish from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.

- You can use an 11X7" baking dish, if preferred, but it will be a tighter fit for the ingredients.
- Don't be tempted to skip the 10 minute rest period after the milk mixture is poured over the chopped donuts. This is crucial to allow the pastry to absorb the custard mixture. It will bake up a mushy mess if you don't give it time to absorb the liquid.
- Let the custard set for a few minutes prior to serving for best results.
