1 13.25 oz box rainbow chip cake mix, 1 13.25 oz box angel food cake mix
Add three tablespoons of the cake mix mixture to a microwave safe mug.
Add two tablespoons of water to the mug, and whisk together until the batter's evenly combined. Don't be alarmed if it looks a little foamy.
2 tbsp water
Microwave for 1 minute, then carefully remove the hot mug and let the cupcake rest for another 60 seconds.
Frost, serve, and enjoy!
3 tbsp frosting
- If you have an XL mug (24-28 ounces), you can double the recipe and microwave for a 1 minute 30 seconds for an XL cupcake.
- You can sub any other flavor of cake mix for the rainbow chip, but the recipe has to have angel food as the other. Sometimes this will be called sponge cake.
- Spray the inside of the mug with nonstick spray before adding the cupcake batter to make cleanup easier.
