Quick and easy tuna melts in the air fryer are just the thing to make when you need a hot lunch or dinner fast! Havarti cheese melts on top of homemade tuna salad on a slice of bread for an effortless take on the diner style classic.

Ingredients

  • 2 7 oz cans tuna well drained and flaked apart
  • 2 stalks celery diced
  • 1/2 - 3/4 tsp dried dill weed
  • 4 tbsp mayonnaise + more, if needed
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 4 slices havarti cheese
  • 4 slices sandwich bread

Instructions

  • Add the tuna, celery, dill, mayo and garlic to a large mixing bowl. Whisk them together until evenly combined.
    2 7 oz cans tuna, 2 stalks celery, 1/2 - 3/4 tsp dried dill weed, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 4 tbsp mayonnaise
  • Spread the tuna mixture evenly out over four slices of sturdy sandwich bread in an even layer.

  • Add the open faced sandwiches to the basket of an air fryer, then top each with a slice of cheese.

  • Air fry at 400° for 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Do NOT shake or flip the sandwiches or the air fryer basket while cooking.
  • You can add other mixins to your tuna salad like chopped onions or lemon juice.
  • Feel free to customize these to your liking and use English muffin halves, your favorite sliced cheese or add other toppings like sliced tomato under the cheese.
