Slow Cooker Sweet And Sour Meatballs

Slow cooker sweet and sour meatballs are tender, saucy, and packed with that perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavor. Thanks to the crock pot and a bag of premade meatballs, this versatile dish practically makes itself!

Ingredients

  • 1 32 oz bag frozen meatballs
  • 1 20 oz can pineapple tidbits undrained
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 large green bell pepper seeded & diced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp cold water

Instructions

  • Add the frozen meatballs to the bowl of your slow cooker.
    1 32 oz bag frozen meatballs
  • Add the remaining ingredients, except the slurry, to a mixing bowl and whisk together until evenly combined. Pour the sauce over the meatballs, then gently stir them until evenly coated.
    1 20 oz can pineapple tidbits, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup seasoned rice vinegar, 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/3 cup water, 1 large green bell pepper
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Add the cornstarch and cold water to a small bowl then stir together until evenly combined. Pour the slurry into the slow cooker and gently stir just until evenly incorporated.
    1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Cover and continue cooking on HIGH for 30 more minutes.
  • Serve warm & enjoy!

Notes

  • These meatballs are great as an appetizer for parties and potlucks but you can also make them a meal if you serve them over a bed of steamed white rice.
  • For a thicker sauce, double the cornstarch slurry.
  • You can use beef or chicken meatballs in this depending on your preference.
