I love easy recipes that I can keep in my back pocket and pull out to look and feel super impressive.

For example, making your own salad dressing sounds fancy.

But you know what?

It’s the easiest thing ever to do.

Just 2 minutes, a handful of ingredients, and one jar and you are good to go!

Ingredients

To make this you need:

  • Heavy cream– Don’t substitute for lower fat cream or milk. It won’t work.
  • Wine vinegar– Either red or white wine vinegar will work.
  • Salt and pepper– To taste.

How to Make

Making this is ridiculously easy!

Just add the cream and vinegar to a mixing bowl and whisk it until the mixture is slightly thick.

OR you could add the cream and vinegar to a mason jar, seal it and give it 2 to 3 shakes to thicken it.

Then, just season with salt and pepper to taste and enjoy!

How much dressing does this make?

This makes the perfect amount of salad dressing for 1 regular sized bagged salad.

Can I make this ahead of time?

No. This doesn’t store well so you’ll want to make it just before serving.

Tips and Tricks

  • You can easily double or triple the recipe, as needed.
  • Want to add a little bit more flavor? Add a crushed garlic clove or roasted garlic clove for a creamy garlic version, or chopped basil and a touch of parmesan for a basil parmesan dressing.
  • If you use a mason jar to make this, you only need to shake it 2 to 3 times. Any more and it will be too thick.
