This air fryer Brussels sprouts recipe is just the way to get everyone to eat their veggies! These slightly crispy, buttery, perfectly seasoned Brussels sprouts make a delicious side dish for almost any main.
We have a bunch of veggie hating children.
I’m not proud of it, but it is a fact of my life that I have come to accept.
The only way to get them to eat their veggies is make them extra delicious.
No bland, boring steamed or boiled Brussels sprouts in this house!
We dress them up and cook them in a way that lets their natural sugars caramelize so there’s no bland, unpleasant bitterness but instead a mellow nutty flavor to them.
And we slather these air fryer Brussels sprouts with butter, honey, and flavors like orange zest and smoked paprika to make a veggie side dish that no one can refuse.
Even my veggie hating sons!
Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:
- Brussels sprouts– Fresh not frozen Brussels sprouts with the flat end and any loose leaves trimmed off. Cut them in half.
- Butter– A whole stick of melted butter divided.
- Honey– You could substitute maple syrup but it will change the flavor.
- Zest– Fresh orange zest adds flavor and brightness.
- Spices– Smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper.
How to Make Brussels Sprouts in the Air Fryer
This air fryer Brussels sprouts recipe is pretty easy to make!
Just add the trimmed, halved sprouts to a large mixing bowl and toss them with half of the melted butter until evenly combined.
Spread half of the buttered sprouts out in the basket of an air fryer.
Air fry the Brussels sprouts at 380° for 8 minutes.
Open the fryer and give the basket a good shake to mix up the sprouts.
Then put the basket back into the fryer and keep air frying for another 6-7 minutes.
Pour the first batch of crispy sprouts back into a large mixing bowl.
Repeat this process for the remaining sprouts.
Whisk the remaining melted butter together with the honey, zest, and seasonings.
Pour the seasoned butter mixture over the sprouts, gently tossing until evenly coated.
Serve immediately, and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
These will keep for up to 5 days in an airtight container in the fridge.
Keep in mind that they will lose some of their crispiness in the fridge so I don’t recommend microwaving them.
But if you reheat them in the air fryer they will crisp right up again!
What to Serve with Brussels Sprouts
These air fryer Brussels sprouts pair well with almost any meat or fish.

Tips and Tricks
- Be sure you’re using regular sized brussels sprouts, not the jumbo sized.
- Make sure to not overcrowd the air fryer. The air needs to be able to move around the sprouts so they get nice and crispy.
- Preheat the air fryer for best results.
