Hawaiian pasta salad is an easy side dish you’ll be serving up all summer long. Featuring a creamy teriyaki base, sweet mandarin oranges and pineapples, and salty ham, this dish is a winner.
Pasta salad has a place on our table all summer long.
We basically spend the warmer months eating outside, having barbecues, and going to picnics, and potlucks.
All perfect occasions for the noodle salad.
And this spin is something a little new and different than the standard versions loaded with Italian dressings or a sweet mayo dressing.
With its teriyaki base and the combo of pineapple and ham, it’s a unique sweet and savory salad you’ll love.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Pasta– Use any variety you like.
- Teriyaki sauce– Your favorite brand.
- Mayonnaise– Use real full fat mayo for the best flavor.
- Green onions– Thinly sliced.
- Fruit– A drained can of mandarin oranges and a drained can of pineapple tidbits.
- Ham– Diced. Thicker, country style ham works best, but if you don’t have that you could use lunchmeat.
- Cheese– Diced cheddar cheese
How to Make
This pasta salad is a snap to make!
To do it, cook the pasta according to the package directions, stopping when it reaches al dente.
When the pasta is al dente, strain it and run it under cold water to stop it from cooking.
Set it aside.
Then stir the mayo and teriyaki sauce together in a large mixing bowl.
Once it’s evenly combined, stir in the pasta.
Then fold in the remaining ingredients, gently tossing until everything is evenly combined.
Serve immediately or cover and chill for 2-4 hours.
Enjoy!
Can I make this ahead of time?
Yes, you can make this 4 hours ahead of time if you cover it and refrigerate it.
In fact, it’s even better because the flavors have a chance to meld.
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
