Despite not being a morning person, it’s a universal truth that some mornings call for a hearty breakfast.

And most of the time, those mornings need a stick to your ribs kind of breakfast without a lot of effort.

This biscuits and gravy skillet keeps things simple while still delivering classic comfort food flavor.

Using canned sausage gravy and Bisquick means breakfast is on the table fast with minimal prep that even my morning hating self can manage for an easy meal the whole family.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Sausage gravy– 2 15 ounce cans of your favorite brand of sausage gravy.
  • Bisquick mix– A 7.5 ounce packet of Bisquick buttermilk complete biscuits and the water called for in the package directions

How to Make

This biscuits and gravy skillet couldn’t be easier to make!

Just spread the gravy in an even layer in a large, safe skillet.

Make the biscuits according to the directions on the package.

Dollop the biscuits on top of the gravy in an even layer.

Bake at 350 for 12 to 18 minutes or just until the biscuits are golden and set.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers tightly wrapped in the skillet in your fridge for up to 4 days.

Keep in mind the longer you store it, the more the biscuits will absorb the gravy.

Tips and Tricks

  • A large cast iron skillet works really well for this! If your skillet isn’t cast iron, make sure it is oven safe.
  • Don’t overmix your Bisquick. Just mix it until the dough just comes together.
  • Let the skillet rest for a couple minutes prior to serving to let the biscuits finish setting. It will also make it easier to scoop.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Add the canned gravy to a large, oven safe skillet and spread it out in an even layer.

  • Prepare the biscuit mix per the package directions. Add in dollops to the top of the gravy, in as even a coverage layer as possible.
