Cake Mix Sugar Cookies
Cake mix sugar cookies are an easy way to turn a box of cake mix into super simple cookies! These delicious drop sugar cookies are thick, chewy, and perfect for slathering with a thick layer of icing.
There’s never a bad time of year for a good sugar cookie.

A box of cake mix takes a lot of the prep work out of making these, and you still get rich cookies that make a delicious sweet treat or even an easy Christmas cookie!
Ingredients
To make these you’ll need:
- Cake mix– A 15.25 ounce box of white cake mix
- Flour– All purpose
- Eggs
- Oil– Canola
- Sour cream– Full fat
- Sugar– Granulated
- Frosting– Vanilla
- Sprinkles
How to Make
These cake mix sugar cookies are very easy!
Just mix the cake mix, flour, eggs, oil, and sour cream together in a large mixing bowl until evenly combined.
Pour the sugar into a small bowl and set the bowl of sugar aside.
Using a small cookie scoop, scoop a ball of dough and roll it in the bowl of sugar to coat it.
Once the cookie is coated, put it a nonstick cookie sheet.
Repeat this for all the remaining cookie dough, arranging the balls in even rows with 12 cookies per sheet pan.
Bake the cookies at 350° for 8-12 minutes or just until the cookies have puffed and are set but have not turned golden.
Carefully remove the hot pans from the oven and let them cool for 15 minutes.
Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to finish cooling completely.
Once the cookies have cooled completely, frost them and top them with sprinkles.

Storing
You can store leftover cookies in an airtight container on the counter for up to 5 days.
