Creamy chicken and bowtie pasta is a delicious 30 minute meal your family will love. Tender chicken and fresh carrots and broccoli get tossed with velvety sauce and bowties for a complete dinner.
I love a meal that comes together in under half an hour.
Particularly one that has protein, veggies, and carbs all together so I don’t have to serve anything else with it.
It’s even better when it tastes as good as this creamy chicken and bowtie pasta.
My family loves it and never complains when I serve this even though this is one of my timesaving back pocket meals.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Chicken tenderloins– Cut into 1″ pieces
- Olive oil– Or another light colored, mild oil
- Steamed veggies– A mix of broccoli and baby carrots
- Cream of mushroom soup– You could use pretty much any condensed soup you have on hand. Cream of celery, broccoli, or chicken all work well.
- Heavy cream– Don’t substitute for a lower fat dairy product.
- Seasoning– Onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika
- Chicken broth
- Pasta– Mini farfalle pasta but you could also use other small shaped pasta like penne, rotini, small shells, etc.
How to Make
To make this creamy chicken and bowtie pasta, start by cooking the pasta according to the package directions.
While the pasta cooks, heat the oil in a large skillet set over medium high heat.
Once the oil’s hot, add the chicken to the skillet and cook, stirring often, until white on all sides.
At this point, stir in the soup, cream, and seasonings until everything’s evenly incorporated.
Turn the heat down to medium low and let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, stirring often.
After 5 minutes, stir in the broth to thin the sauce.
Drain the pasta and return it to the pot.
Toss the vegetables with the pasta.
Then, pour the cream sauce into the pot, stirring until everything’s well coated.
Serve warm and top with shredded Parmesan.
Enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftover in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
Do I absolutely have to use bowtie pasta?
Look just because it is called creamy chicken and bowties doesn’t mean you 100 percent need to use bowties.
Any small to medium pasta like penne, rotini, elbow noodles, or small shells would work.
And in a pinch, you could even use fettucine noodles.
Tips and Tricks
- You could spice this up a little with some minced or crushed garlic and red pepper flakes.
- Want it cheesier? Stir in Parmesan cheese right into the sauce.
- You could also make this with shrimp or omit the chicken totally.
