Hot Pesto Dip

Hot pesto dip is the easiest party appetizer ever! With only 3 ingredients and almost no prep, this dip is the perfect recipe to put out any time you entertain. Cheesy, full of flavor, and perfect for dippin’ you just know all your guests will love it!

I love it, but I am also a Southern girl whose Mama taught her that you always need to have something for company.

And this hot pesto dip is the perfect thing!

Just 3 ingredients and 10 minutes of prep time and you are on your way to a seriously yummy solution for any entertaining situation from last minute gatherings to big holiday get togethers.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Cream cheese– Softened to room temperature
  • Pesto– A 6.5 ounce jar of basil pesto.
  • Shredded mozzarella– You could also do shredded Italian blend or a split between shredded mozzarella and shredded Parmesan

How to Make

This hot pesto dip is so easy!

Just mix all of the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl with a hand mixer.

Scoop the dip into a small baking dish you’ve sprayed with nonstick spray and spread it out evenly.

Bake the dip in the oven at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until the dip bubbles and turns golden brown.

Serve with your favorite dipping options.

Dipping Options

Hot pesto dip is so good with so many different dippers.

Our favorites are:

  • pieces of sliced baguette
  • carrots and celery sticks
  • tortilla chips
  • pita chips
  • cucumber slices
  • pasta chips

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat the dip in the oven or microwave until the cheese remelts.

Tips and Tricks

  • Pull the cream cheese out of the fridge to soften before you make the dip.
  • You can add other flavors to this if you like. A little lemon zest or some crushed red pepper flakes would both be yummy.
  • While this recipe calls for basil pesto, you could absolutely make it with sun dried tomato pesto or roasted red peppers.

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese softened
  • 1 6.5 oz jar basil pesto
  • 4 oz shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, blend them together until evenly combined.

  • Lightly spray a small baking dish with nonstick spray. Transfer the dip mixture to the baking dish and spread it out in an even layer.
  • Bake at 400° for 25-30 minutes, just until hot & bubbly and the top's golden brown.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping options.
