- Flour– All purpose
- Dried milk powder– You can buy it online or find it in the baking aisle at your grocery store.
- Salt and pepper
How to Make
Making homemade white gravy mix is so easy!
Just mix all the ingredients together well in a small bowl.
Then store it in a sealed spice jar or mason jar in the pantry for up to 6 month.
How to Use White Gravy Mix
To turn the gravy mix into white gravy, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
Then stir in 2 tablespoons of gravy mix, stirring until all the mix has been absorbed into the melted fat.
Keep cooking it for another minute.
Stir in about a third a cup of water, let it get fully incorporated.
Once the first bit of water and gravy mix are incorporated, stir in another 2/3 cup of water.
Keep cooking and stirring for another 3 minutes or until the gravy thickens to your preference, keeping in mind that it will keep thickening as it cools.
Use the gravy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Tricks
- This can be kept in the freezer to last up to a year, but it’s important it’s airtight so no moisture seeps in or it will be ruined.
- Personally, I like a lot more salt in my mixture, but for this recipe, I kept it at an average saltiness. So, give it a taste and add more salt as needed.
- Do not freeze prepared white gravy.

- 1/2 cup Dry Milk powder

- 2 tsp Black Pepper

Notes
● 2 Tablespoons Butter (or other fat like bacon grease, lard, etc.)
● 1 Cup Warm Water Directions: 1. In a small skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter or other fat completely before adding the gravy mix.
2. Constantly stir until the mix has absorbed all the melted fat. Cook for about 1 minute longer, continuing to stir.
3. Slowly add in about a third of the water, then pause and combine the mixture before slowly adding the rest of the water.
4. Constantly stir for another 3 minutes or until the gravy is thickened to your preference (I remove it from the heat once it lightly coats the back of a spoon).
5. The gravy will continue to thicken as it cools. Use immediately or store in an airtight container, in the fridge, for up to 3 days. Do not freeze. Enjoy!
