How to Make

King’s Hawaiian cinnamon rolls are so easy to make!

Just unwrap the rolls and discard all packaging.

Then transfer them to the center of a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper without breaking the rolls apart.

Cut a spiral into each roll with a sharp pairing knife, starting in the center and slicing in a circular direction outwards to the edge of each.

Set aside the rolls when you have cut spirals into all of the rolls.

Put the butter, sugar, and cinnamon into a microwave safe bowl and microwave the mixture in 15-20 second increments, just until the butter’s melted.

Whisk the melted butter mixture together until a thick mixture forms.

Pour the cinnamon butter over the prepared rolls and spread it out in an even layer overtop of them.

Using the pairing knife, retrace the spirals in each roll and along the edges of each roll so that the butter mixture seeps down into the center of the rolls.

Let them rest for 10-15 minutes so the rolls have a chance to absorb the cinnamon butter.

Bake them at 350° for 10-12 minutes or just until they are golden brown.

Once the rolls are golden brown, take them out of the oven and let them cool.

While they are still somewhat warm, spread your preferred amount of cream cheese frosting evenly out overtop of the cinnamon rolls.

Serve them warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers tightly covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat them in a warm oven to take the chill off and melt the butter again.

Top them with extra cream cheese frosting before serving them again.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t skip the resting time after you pour the cinnamon butter on the spiral cut rolls. The rolls need the time to absorb the cinnamon butter.
  • Make sure you don’t cut all the way through the rolls. You want the bottom of the rolls to stay intact so they filling doesn’t leak out the bottoms.
  • If you know you won’t eat all the rolls, do not frost the rolls you think will be leftover. Frost them after you reheat them.
