And it makes delicious dinners like these air fryer lemon chicken skewers quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

To make these you’ll need:

  • Chicken breasts– 2 large chicken breasts, trimmed of fat and diced into 1 inch cubes.
  • Spices– Salt, pepper, minced or pressed garlic, smoked paprika, oregano
  • Lemon– You’ll only need the zest for the chicken itself but you will need lemon juice as well for the finishing butter.
  • Olive oil– To make the marinade
  • Butter– To melt with lemon juice and drizzle over the cooked chicken skewers

You’ll also want to have wood skewers and a disposable air fryer liner.

How to Make

These air fryer lemon chicken skewers are a snap to make!

Just stir the chicken pieces together with the spices, lemon zest, and olive in in a large mixing bowl.

Cover the bowl and pop it in the fridge for 20 minutes to marinate.

Once the chicken is marinated, thread the chicken onto the wooden skewers, being sure to leave some of the skewer clear on both ends.

Then add a liner to the basket of your air fryer.

Put the chicken skewers on the lined basket.

Air fry the skewers at 400° for 12 minutes.

Flip them over, and let them keep cooking for another 6-8 minutes or until internal temperature measures 165°.

Transfer the chicken skewers to a serving plate.

Once the chicken is done, whisk the melted butter and lemon juice together in a small bowl until evenly combined.

Spoon the finishing butter liberally over the chicken skewers and sprinkle with lemon zest.

Serve warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the air fryer until warmed through.

Before serving the leftovers, drizzle a bit more melted butter over top to make sure the chicken stays moist.

Serving Suggestions

These chicken kebabs are a very versatile main.

You can serve them with any side from rice to veggies or even over a big leafy green salad.

Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t skip the marinating time. This time lets the flavors sink into the chicken and lets the chicken get nice and tender.
  • Adjust the seasoning to suit your taste.
  • I recommend using fresh, not bottled, lemon juice in this recipe since the lemon is the dominate flavor.
