Meatloaf is one of those staple dinners that we all love with mashed potatoes.

These meatloaf burgers invite you to reinvite the classic meat and potatoes combination.

Why not serve the meatloaf burgers with fries or tots instead of mashing potatoes and delight the kids even more?

They’ll never complain about a burger and fries.

At least mine won’t.

Isn’t meatloaf basically a burger anyway?

Most people use only ground beef, salt, pepper, and toppings to make burgers.

Meatloaf is often ground beef but sometimes is a mix of ground beef and pork.

It normally has binding ingredients like breadcrumbs and eggs along with seasoning like garlic, onion and other flavors.

Burgers cook up quickly, whereas meatloaf takes around an hour in the oven.

These meatloaf burgers marry ground beef meatloaf with quick cooking burgers so you can have dinner on the table in no time at all.

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Ground beef– Go for lean beef like 90/10.
  • Aromatics– A small peeled, diced yellow onion and minced garlic.
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Egg– To bind it all together
  • Breadcrumbs– Italian style but panko will work in a pinch
  • Ketchup
  • Hot sauce– Just a little. Don’t worry it won’t make the meatloaf spicy.

Tips and Tricks

  • You can adjust the seasoning to suit your tastes.
  • Make your clean up a breeze and spread a sheet of tin foil on the baking dish below the rack with the burgers on them. The foil will catch all the drips so you won’t have to deal with baked on grease.
  • Serve these burgers with your favorite cheese. Cheddar, mozzarella, and jack would all be yummy choices.
