One Pot Sausage And Pierogi Skillet

This one pot sausage and pierogi skillet turns a package of frozen pierogi into a satisfying meal. Sliced kielbasa gets sauteed with pierogi, yellow onions and green beans for a one stop dinner for even the biggest appetites!

Raising four boys and having a husband with a hearty appetite means I need filling meals.

Otherwise, I am constantly hearing, “Mom, can I have a snack?”

And for my own sanity, I don’t want that.

So I need meals like this sausage and pierogi skillet that I can put together quick that will keep my family full.

And this is a winner with its comfort food combo.

One Pot Sausage And Pierogi in a large cast iron skillet

Ingredients

To make this you’ll need:

  • Olive oil– You can substitute another light colored oil
  • Kielbasa– Slice it into coins
  • Cheese pierogi– a 16 ounce package of your favorite frozen pierogi, alternatively you can use homemade pierogi.
  • Yellow onion– Diced
  • Green beans– Frozen cut green beans
  • Salt and pepper– To taste

How to Make

This sausage and pierogi skillet is so quick and easy, coming together in well under 30 minutes!

Just heat the oil in a large skillet set over medium heat.

When the oil is hot and shimmery, saute the sausage, pierogi, and onions in the skillet just until the pierogi are golden brown or roughly 6 minutes per side.

Gently stir the sausage and onions while the pierogi cook.

Add the green beans to the skillet the last 5 minutes of cooking, gently stirring them as needed.

Season the dish with salt and pepper, to taste.

Serve and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Tips and Trick

  • I recommend serving this with a dollop of sour cream, it pairs perfectly with the pierogi
  • You can top the skillet with some shredded cheese if you want.
  • In a pinch you can substitute the kielbasa for bratwurst or chorizo.

  • 1 12 oz kielbasa sliced into coins
  • 1 16 oz pkg frozen cheese pierogi
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 1 10 oz pkg frozen cut green beans
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Add the oil to a large skillet set over medium heat. Once hot add the sausage, pierogi, and onions to the skillet. Saute just until the pierogi are golden brown- roughly 6 minutes per side, gently stirring the sausage and onions too.
