Quick And Easy Cheese Bread
Quick and easy cheese bread is the perfect side for any meal. With a similar flavor to Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits, this cheese bread is perfect for dunking into soup, pasta sauce, gravy, and stew.
You ever have a craving for cheese and carbs that hits you like a brick of cheddar to the face?
The kind of craving where you’re not just hungry but want sheer comfort.
This easy cheese bread is the perfect glorious remedy for these situations.
It has no yeast, no rise time, no kneading.
Nothing but melty, golden, savory perfection.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Flour– All purpose
- Sugar– Granulated
- Spices– Garlic powder and salt
- Leavening agents– Baking powder and baking soda
- Butter– Melted
- Buttermilk– Don’t have any? Make your own by stirring two teaspoons of vinegar or lemon juice into two cups of milk.
- Eggs
- Cheese– Shredded cheddar
How to Make
This quick and easy cheese bread barely needs any prep.
Just whisk the flour, sugar, garlic, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
Then stir in 2 cups of shredded cheese.
Set the dry ingredients aside.
In a second mixing bowl, whisk together the butter, buttermilk, and eggs until everything is evenly combined.
Then pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and fold them together until just combined.
Pour the batter into a 9×5″ loaf pan greased with butter or greased with nonstick spray, spreading the batter out evenly.
Top the batter with an even layer of the remaining cheese.
Cover the pan loosely with foil and bake at 350 for 40 minutes.
After 40 minutes, remove the foil and keep baking for another 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread rest for 10 minutes, then run a knife around the edges of the pan to release the bread.
Turn the bread out onto a cutting board.
Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers tightly wrapped in the fridge for up to 4 days.
While you can eat the leftover bread cold, I highly recommend popping it in the oven to warm it before enjoying again.
Tips and Tricks
- Don’t over mix the batter. You just want to combine the ingredients. Over mixing makes for dense bread.
- You can substitute shredded cheddar with other shredded cheese if you prefer. Shredded jack, pepper jack, or Italian cheese would all be yummy.
- Letting the bread rest will help it set up before you turn it out.
