Skillet ravioli lasagna is an easy one pot meal that turns premade ravioli into a cheesy comforting dish layered with sauce and cheese. This short cut lasagna will be everyone’s favorite easy weeknight dinner!
We love lasagna, but I sure don’t love making it.
I’m not about the life where I spend all my time cooking pasta, making sauce, mixing up cheeses, layering things together, and then baking it for an hour.
Nope.
And even if I would do that on a regular occasion, with 4 kids, I don’t have that kind of time on hand.
So I am all about shortcuts like this one skillet ravioli lasagna.
It gives you all that cheesy goodness you know and love but without all the prep and cleanup of traditional lasagna.
Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Olive oil– To cook the sausage and saute the onions in
- Sausage– Ground sausage
- Aromatics– Half of a yellow onion diced and minced garlic
- Spaghetti sauce– Your favorite jarred kind. You can also use your favorite homemade sauce as well.
- Tomato paste– To give the sauce more body and deeper flavor
- Broth– Chicken broth. You could also substitute beef broth or vegetable broth to suit your preferences.
- Ravioli– Refrigerated cheese ravioli.
- Cheese– Shredded mozzarella cheese and shredded Parmesan cheese.
How to Make
This skillet ravioli lasagna is so easy to make!
Just heat the olive oil in a large skillet, or Dutch oven, over medium heat.
When the oil’s hot add the onions, stirring occasionally, until soft.
Once the onions are soft, stir in the garlic and cook for 60 seconds.
Then, add the meat to the skillet and brown it until no pink remains.
Stir in the sauce, paste, broth, and ravioli.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
As soon as it starts to boil, turn the heat down so it’s just at a simmer.
Let everything simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the sauce has reduced and thickened and the pasta’s tender.
Stir in most of the mozzarella cheese and all of the Parmesan cheese.
Then remove the skillet from heat and top with the rest of the shredded mozzarella.
Let the skillet rest until the cheese has melted.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat in the microwave until warmed through.
