Sweet And Sour Meatballs (Slow Cooker Recipe)
Slow cooker sweet and sour meatballs are tender, saucy, and packed with that perfect balance of tangy and sweet flavor. Thanks to the crock pot and a bag of premade meatballs, this versatile dish practically makes itself!

We always have a bag of frozen meatballs on hand.
Why?
Because you can throw them into the slow cooker with a few choice ingredients and get a versatile appetizer or dinner with just a few minutes of active prep.
And these slow cooker sweet and sour meatballs are one of our favorite variations!

These meatballs simmer away in a sweet and tangy sauce that coats every bite in deliciousness.
But best yet?
They need very little from you, making them perfect for busy weeknights in addition to being delicious enough to serve as a party appetizer.

Ingredients
To make this you’ll need:
- Frozen meatballs– A 32 ounce bag of your favorite brand.
- Pineapple tidbits– An undrained 20 ounce can
- Brown sugar
- Rice vinegar– You can buy seasoned rice vinegar in the international aisle at the grocery store.
- Soy sauce– If you are concerned it might be too salty, you can use lite soy sauce
- Water
- Bell pepper– A green bell pepper, seeded and diced.
- Slurry– Cornstarch and water to thicken the sauce

How to Make
These sweet and sour meatballs are so easy!
Just add the frozen meatballs to the bowl of your slow cooker.
Then whisk the remaining ingredients except the slurry in a mixing bowl until it’s evenly combined.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs and then gently stir them until evenly coated.
Cover the meatballs and cook them on LOW for 3 hours and 30 minutes.
After 3 and a half hours, stir the cornstarch and cold water together in a small bowl until it’s evenly combined into a slurry.
Stir the slurry into the slow cooker just until evenly incorporated.
Cover and continue cooking on HIGH for 30 more minutes.
Serve warm and enjoy!

Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat in the microwave or in the slow cooker until warmed through.

Tips and Tricks
- These meatballs are great as an appetizer for parties and potlucks but you can also make them a meal if you serve them over a bed of steamed white rice.
- For a thicker sauce, double the cornstarch slurry.
- You can use beef or chicken meatballs in this depending on your preference.
