Reheat in the microwave or in a hot oven until warmed through.
Should I wash tilapia before cooking it?
No!
You don’t want to wash the fish first.
Washing it spreads the bacteria from the fish onto other surfaces and may make you sick.
Cooking the fish kills any bacteria that may be on it.
What fish goes well with teriyaki?
Fatty fishes like salmon and tuna are very popular with teriyaki style dishes, however white fish like tilapia is so delicious with it as well!
Tips and Tricks
- You can sub salmon or tuna for the tilapia and there’s no need to buy the expensive stuff from the seafood counter! While fresh will work, the the pouch or canned kind both work too! If using canned, just make sure it’s thoroughly drained before adding it to the casserole.
- Not into broccoli slaw? You can sub regular coleslaw mix, if preferred.
- Feel free to switch up the rice. Brown rice or jasmine rice would both work in this too. Really whatever you have on hand and like!
