Thanksgiving meatloaf gives you all the flavors of a traditional turkey dinner with a fraction of the work! This turkey loaf is perfect for Friendsgiving, a unique dish on the holidays, or anytime you want to enjoy the flavors of Thanksgiving without the hours of prep time!
There’s nothing better than eating a turkey dinner.
It’s something I look forward to all year.
But I don’t look forward to the prep work.
Really who wants to be in the kitchen for days to make a full Thanksgiving dinner?
Certainly not this girl!
With my Thanksgiving meatloaf, you get all the flavors of Thanksgiving with a sliver of the prep work!
Ingredients
To make this you need:
- Ground turkey– Yes, you could sub ground chicken- but ground turkey will give you the most authentic Thanksgiving flavor so I don’t recommend it.
- Mirepoix– Mirepoix is just equal parts of diced onions, celery, and carrots
- Stuffing mix– Go for a savory herb stuffing
- Seasonings– Dried sage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper
- Eggs– To bind it together
- Milk– For moisture
- Gravy– Brown gravy
- Chicken broth– You can use turkey broth instead.
- Cranberry sauce– Warmed
How to Make
Trust me when I say making Thanksgiving meatloaf is way easier than roasting a turkey and making all of the sides!
To do it, just add all of the ingredients except the broth and cranberry sauce to a large mixing bowl.
Mix it all together using clean hands or a sturdy wooden spoon until it’s evenly combined.
Add the meatloaf mixture to a casserole dish you’ve sprayed liberally with nonstick spray, and shape it into a loaf or log shape.
Then, pour the broth into the bottom of the dish.
Bake the loaf at 350° for 30 minutes.
Spread the warmed cranberry sauce evenly out overtop of the meatloaf and bake it for another 45 minutes.
After time is up, carefully remove the dish from the oven, and let the meatloaf rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes.
Slice, serve, and enjoy!
Storing Leftovers
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
