5 Minute S'mores Oatmeal

Transform your morning breakfast bowl of oatmeal into a delicious treat to start the day off right with this 5 minute s'mores oatmeal recipe. Creamy oats flavored with melted marshmallows are topped with pieces of rich chocolate & graham cracker crumbs for the ultimate AM treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned steel cut oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 jumbo marshmallows regular size, NOT miniature
  • Hershey's bar pieces for topping
  • graham crackers crumbled, for topping
  • mini marshmallows for topping (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small pot over high heat, bring the milk to a boil. Immediately reduce the heat to low, and stir in the oats.
  • Simmer, stirring often, for 4-5 minutes- just until the oats are tender and creamy. Remove the pot from heat.
  • Add the marshmallows to the pot, stirring until melted and evenly incorporated.
  • Transfer the marshmallow oatmeal to a bowl.
  • Add toppings and serve warm!

Notes

  • Don't have a Hershey bar? Use chocolate chips or even just a drizzle of hot fudge or chocolate syrup
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled to serve a larger crowd.
  • Let the kids customize the toppings for a fun breakfast! Sprinkles anyone?!
