Dean's French Onion Dip (Copycat Recipe)
This Dean's French onion dip recipe is a delicious copycat of the classic creamy store bought dip. Our version is just as yummy, totally customizable, and needs only 5 minutes of active prep!

- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp dried minced onion
- 1 tsp onion powder
- pinch garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried parsley
Add all of the ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk together until evenly combined. Taste and adjust the seasonings, if needed.

Cover and chill for 1-2 hours.

- I recommend making this dip at least an hour ahead of time so it can chill. The chill time lets the dried onion soften and the flavors marry and meld.
- This is different than the french onion dip that's made with a packet of french onion soup mix or caramelized onions. You don't need a soup packet or to cut up and caramelize onions for this.
- As the dip sits, the sour cream may separate, making the dip a little watery. Don't worry! This is normal. Just give it a good stir to bring it back together.
