Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree NOT pie filling
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a small mixing bowl.
4 oz cream cheese, 1/4 cup pumpkin puree, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • Using a hand mixer, beat everything together until evenly combined and smooth.
  • Serve as is, or chill for 1-2 hours first, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to room temperature beforehand. Cold cream cheese is very firm and doesn't mix well which will leave you with chunks of cream cheese that don't properly blend with the other ingredients.
  • This spread uses pumpkin puree. Don't confuse that with pumpkin pie filling, which is easy to do since they're in similarly colored cans, often right next to each other on store shelves.
  • Not a fan of pumpkin pie spice? That's ok, you can just leave it out!
  • You can use either light or brown sugar in this recipe, whichever you happen to have on hand or to personal preference- both will work.
  • While I tend to use real vanilla extract, it can be pricey. Imitation vanilla extract will taste great too, and nobody will ever be able to tell the difference since it's not the dominant flavor.
