Brazilian lemonade is a creamy limeade popular in South America that’s recently been trending on social media. For good reason too, this 5 minute recipe is the perfect beverage for cooling off with on hot afternoons and warm Summer nights.
There’s nothing better than a cold drink on a hot Summer day.
Whether we’re at the pool, the beach, or just hanging out on the back porch- you can count on us having something cold on hand to quench our thirst and help keep cool.
This Brazilian lemonade is one of my favorite summer sippers.
It only takes a few minutes to whip up, and is perfect for pretty much any, and all, occasions.
Whether you’re looking for an evening mocktail, a pitcher for the pool, or a cold creamy treat for the whole family- this creamy limeade is a refreshing treat.
Ingredients Needed
Brazilian lemonade has a pretty short ingredient list, which is always a bonus for me- especially when I want easy relief from the oppressive Summer heat.
To make it you’ll need:
- Water – No need for anything special or fancy. Four cups of whatever drinking water you prefer- whether it be bottled, filtered, or from the tap.
- Condensed Milk – You’ll need one 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk for this creamy drink. Don’t try to sub for unsweetened condensed milk, since not only does it make the limeade creamy- it’s also the only sweetener used.
- Lime Juice – While I highly recommend using freshly squeeze lime juice, you can absolutely sub the bottled kind if that is more convenient.
- Ice – For serving
- Lime Slices – For garnish
Once you’ve measured out the ingredients, you’re ready to go!
How To Make
Making a batch of Brazilian lemonade couldn’t be any easier.
It’s so easy even my youngest can (and happily) do it. All you need is 5 minutes, a pitcher, and a whisk.
Start by pouring the lime juice into a large pitcher.
Add the sweetened condensed milk to the pitcher, making sure to scrape down the sides of the can with a spatula to get it all in there.
Add all of the water.
Whisk the mixture together until evenly combined and it’s smooth.
Fill cups with ice, then pour the creamy limeade into each.
Add a couple thin slices of lime to each glass, if using, for garnish.
Serve immediately, and enjoy!
Storing
Leftover Brazilian lemonade can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
Don’t try to save any drinks that have already been poured over ice.
The ice will melt, diluting and ruining the beverage.
TIPS & TRICKS
- While you can add the ice to the pitcher to chill the lemonade, I recommend serving it over ice instead. This prevents the melting ice from diluting the creamy lemonade in the pitcher, especially on warm days.
- This is best made with freshly squeezed juice, although it’s not a must. I juiced 10 large limes which gave me a generous cup of juice and I highly recommend using a citrus press or juicer.
- You could make this with all lime juice or half lemon, half lime juice if you prefer. The traditional version is 100% lime juice though.
Other Easy Lemonade Recipes
