Have you heard of girl dinner?

Also known as an easy to fix meal in a style you’d typically make for yourself on a night alone. Quick, easy, snacky, and comforting.

Well this easy breakfast bowl recipe is in the vein of ‘kid breakfast’.

Quick and easy, kid friendly favorites, all thrown together in a single bowl for a fun mash up that’s also totally delicious.

I love it because it’s a filling breakfast that combines all the typically separate elements into a single dish that none of my kids ever have a complaint about when served.

Ingredients Needed

These easy breakfast bowls have an equally easy, convenient list of ingredients.

To make it you’ll need:

  • Crispy Crowns – Also known as tater rounds, they’re similar to tater tots but smaller so they get crispier when cooked. This makes them less prone to turning mushy under the other ingredient layers.
  • Eggs – Fluffy, scrambled eggs
  • Gravy – Canned sausage gravy
  • Cheese – Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt & Pepper – Totally optional, but if using season with each to your desired preference.

Once you’ve gathered your ingredients you’re ready to assemble them into the ‘bowl’.

How To Make

These bowls only take minutes to throw together.

Start by cooking your crispy crowns in the method you prefer. I don’t like frying or baking if it’s a small amount, and will air fry them instead.

Once the potatoes are cooked, transfer them to a waiting bowl or plate.

If you’re scrambled eggs aren’t warm heat them up, then spread them out over the crispy potatoes.

Top with warm gravy, followed by the cheese.

Serve warm & enjoy!

Storing

Unfortunately assembled breakfast bowls don’t store well. The potatoes get soggy and don’t crisp up when reheating.

Instead, store extras separately in air tight container in the refrigerator. When ready to enjoy again, reheat them separately and then assemble into bowls.
