What size mug should I use to make microwave mac and cheese?

You don’t want to use a standard sized coffee mug.

Make sure to use a 12 ounce or larger (preferred!) mug to keep things from boiling over.

Tips and Tricks

  • Make sure you’re using a LARGE mug.
  • The water is prone to boil over, so I like to sit my mug on a layer of folded paper towels for easy clean up if it does.
  • Be aware the mug will be very HOT so be careful when removing from the microwave.
  • You can spice it up a bit by adding some hot sauce to the pasta.
